Environment:
Failover of 2 X IIS servers
Failover of 2 X SQL servers (Just setting up)

Currently we have had the static IP adress of our SQL server hardcoded into various applications. Can we use this address as the virtual IP address for the Kemp failover process? If so, do we have to use two additional static IP addresses for the servers that are in our current subnet mask?

Thanks

Absolutely, simply create a new Virtual Service on the MS SQL port and then add the two MS SQL servers as Real Servers and make sure to select "Fixed Weighting" as the Scheduling Method, don't forget to select the appropriate weight. One Real Server will have to have a higher weight value than the other. You can learn more about Fixed Weighting in the manual @ http://www.kemptechnologies.com/documentation
